The Beginning
Since the birth of the company in 1960, Plaza Door has been dedicated to offering the finest quality, high performance custom-built sliding door products available. Being native south Floridian residents, where the corrosion from high humidity and the threat of hurricanes is ever-present, we saw a market for a high-quality, durable, and effective sliding glass door that will keep out the elements and provide protection for the interior space.

Plaza Door sliding doors are designed to meet the demands of the harsh coastal environment and take high structure loading to withstand the hurricanes that frequent our coastal markets. We are strong believers in building to surpass building code requirements. The doors are stronger because they contain more aluminum.
The glass is high-impact resi stant. We were the first to invest heavily in corrosion-resistant materials. All locks, hardware, tracks and rollers contain no metals that are easily susceptible to rusting or corroding.
Since Hurricane Andrew, we have tracked the effectiveness of our doors in buildings wherever Plaza doors are installed. They have passed with flying colors. In fact, in one building where old doors were in the process of being replaced with Plaza doors, the only doors that survived Andrew were ours. Another instance, an oceanfront hotel that had replaced their doors two other times, finally opted for Plaza doors. After the two hurricanes of 2004 stuck, the doors are still fully intact.
48 years of continuous operation later, we are still producing the highest quality custom-built products with the greatest variety of configuration options available anywhere. All of our doors are custom built. There are no warehouses stocking standard doors. We engineer and build to fit the requirements of each project.
